Thomas Young, aged 24, guilty of the highway robbery of Thomas Smith in the parish of Haltwistle on 2nd December 1788: robbing him of a cloth coat (valued at 5/-), a Dimity waistcoat (valued at 2/-), a silk handkerchief (valued at 5/-), a man’s hat with buckle and band (valued at 2/-), a silver watch (valued at 40/-), a steel chain and seal (valued at 6d), a leather purse (valued at 1d) and 5/- in money numbered.
